Poetry recital session, symposium held on 6th day of Vishwa Rang

Marking the sixth day of Vishwa Rang a poetry recital session and symposium by Transgenders was organised here on Friday.

Renowned novelist Chitra Mudgal was the chairperson at the event, who in her address said that we should never abandon a child from its home despite being gender deprived.. We should always understand that human came first and religion later . Leeladhar Madaloi was the coordinator of the event.

Besides, Dhanajaya Chauhan, Russian, French and computer science, work as a human rights activist, work with Canadian consulate, British government, and Indian government, represented India in England, Athens, France, Holland, Germany and few more. She began her lecture by saying “Am not a woman, Am a proud woman”.

While thanking the Literature festival she said that this is a path of inclusion and education. “Different is not wrong as it is the diversity of nature” she added. The struggle of the third gender starts by the birth. Society decides the gender, else everything is biological and the child has everything given and does not have anything of its own. S

She had talked about her struggle, harassment and abuse she got from the society in the growing years. 

Despite all she had excelled in her education by keeping her identity hidden for the sake of family.. She had fought for her rights in the educational institution, for a non discriminative environment, during her education in Punjab University in 2016. She ended her lecture by a self written a poem on her life and few poetic lines by Amir Khusro. Manavi Bandopadhyaya ,the principal of first Indian Trans Gender College, a National award winner actor, a social activist worked with Indian government. she commenced her poetry session with Rabindra Tagore’s Ekla Chalo Re’s

Hindi version.Sshe recited poems like “Mai kya khud ek kavita hu,mera jeevan ek kathin sa gadya” and “Main Tritiya”.  She ended her sessionwith another song by Tagore.
