Leader of the Opposition in State Assembly Dharamlal Kaushik dared Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to prove his and former chief minister Raman Singh’s link with chit fund companies or resign from the chief ministership.
Kaushik was reacting to CM’s comments over the issue at a public rally in Bilaspur on Saturday which was also attended by Congress president Rahul Gandhi.
Kaushik said Baghel had crossed all limits of telling lies, demeaning the post he is holding.
If the allegations made against them could be proved, both Singh and he would take retirement from public life, Kaushik said.
“Congress has come to power after misleading the people. Promises it made have been half fulfilled and now it is resorting to lies. No promise has been entirely fulfilled till date. Nothing has been done to fulfill the promises of imposing prohibition and providing unemployment allowance to youth,” he said.
“Through lies the Congress is trying to divert attention from the government’s failure. People have now understood the intention,” the BJP leader said.
He also threatened to move court to seek legal recourse if allegations against them were not substantiated.
