Ragging victim student complains

Friday, 19 April 2019 | PNS | Haridwar

Panic prevailed in campus of RIT college in Roorkee under jurisdiction of Bhagwanpur police station when a BTech student alleged thrashing by college management. The college management purportedly tried to suppress the issue after the student raised it on Wednesday but the victim lodged complaint against the management in police station on Thursday.

It is learnt that on April 5, a senior student of the college had allegedly teased and made an attempted to molest BTech first year student hailing from Dhanbad. When the student went to the hostel warden and college management to complain, it is alleged that she was thrashed by four people who even threatened with dire consequences if she spoke of the incident outside. The student has lodged a complaint in the Bhagwanpur police station against the senior college management staff and hostel warden demanding action against them.

The student made her video viral on social media in which blue bruises are seen on her face after she was allegedly thrashed by the college management staff. When Ayesh, a fellow student of the victim, tried to speak with the management, they refused to speak anything in front of the camera. The college management is saying that the student has been sent home for vacation.
