The Film Festival dedicated to legendary filmmaker Balraj Sahani will be organised at the Ravindra Bhavan from Wednesday.
The two-day film festival is being organised by the Directorate of Culture in memory of Balraj Sahni.
In this ceremony to be held from December 4 to 6, Balraj Sahni's best films have been selected for screening.
To pay a tribute to his contribution in Indian cinema, the film festival will begin from Wednesday at 6:30 pm with the film 'Waqt'. The film was directed by Yash Chopra. The film was produced in 1965. The film also stars Rajkumar, Sunil Dutt and Shashi Kapoor in the lead roles.
On the second day, two films will be screened on Thursday 5 December. In these, the film 'Seema', which was screened in 1955, will be screened at 3 pm. It was directed by Amiya Chakraborty. Nutan also has an important role in this film. On the same day at 6.30 pm, Anuradha directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee will be screened. The film starring Leela Naidu played in 1960.
On third and last day of the festival i.e. on Friday, Chetan Anand-directed film 'Haqiqat' will be screened at 3 pm. The film was released in 1964. On the same day, the final film 'Do Bigha Zameen' will be performed at 6.30 pm. The director of this film was Vimal Rai. The film was produced in 1953.
