Regional convention of journalist federation held

Regional convention of Uttarakhand Patrakar Mahasangh (UPM) was held here on Saturday. During the convention, the members demanded that the recommendations of the Manisana Wage Board should be implemented without delay. Addressing the journalists present, the president of UPM, Nishith Saklani said that the journalists working in different newspapers face many problems which are not being attended to.

He further said that Manisana Wage Board had made many recommendations for the salary and better working conditions for the journalists. “But they have remained dumped in the cold storage so far,” he said.

The state general secretary of the federation, Sanjay Rawat, said that the journalists in the State have been facing numerous problems and the federation is committed to raise their issues.

The convention was addressed by the State vice- president of the outfit Vivek Sharma and its Dehradun district president Sushil Chamoli among others.
