Rise above caste, religion to serve needy: CM to SIs

Thursday, 17 October 2019 | PNS | Ranchi

Chief Minister Raghubar Das today called upon newly inducted Sub Inspectors of Jharkhand police to rise above caste and religion to become the voice of the underprivileged and needy persons. The CM, while inspecting the passing out parade of 1170 new Sub Inspectors also asked them to make cordial relations with the masses to serve them.

Addressing the SIs on the occasion, the CM said that their recruitment has been done in a transparent and corruption free manner. “This is a splendid example of corruption-free and transparent governance, which has resulted in the appointment of 2,500 newly appointed police inspectors, in which the children of the poor, farmers, labourers, small businessmen, minority communities and tribal communities have also got the job of police officer on the basis of their talent without any lobbying or access. For this, I thank all the staff and officials involved in the restoration process,” he said.

The CM said, “You are expected to make good relations with the people and serve the society with honesty. You have to gain public confidence by standing patiently with the public in every situation. Get ready to serve the State with full devotion. By playing your important role in making the State fear-free and militant-free, do your bit to make Jharkhand the best State in the country. The government's priority is to create a fear-free, militant-free and corruption-free State.

Newly appointed police officers should carry out their duties by being friendly with the public. The government's resolve to make Jharkhand fear-free, crime-free and extremist-free will be strengthened with the help of the immense power of youth like you.”

Das said that this is one of the important achievements of his reign. “To give concrete shape to this long and complicated process, I thank the Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department and other officials. I thank the Additional Chief Secretary and other officials of the Finance Department for the work done by the Finance Department in facilitating the complete training program. All police training institutes in the State will be equipped with the highest and state of the art facilities so that all the lines of Police Department can be trained in such a quality and professional manner like under inspectors of the year 2018-19 batch,” he added. DGP Kamal Nayan Choubey said that police personnel are needed according to the population. “Appointment of 11,000 jawans and more than 5,000 police personnel is a positive initiative. I hope that the way police personnel are appointed will be helpful in bringing about change. The role of police in a slave and free country varies. We are servants of poor and helpless people. Today crime control is basic need. Naxalism in the State is at a final stop today. We are lashed by modern technology. All of you trainee police inspectors will play an important role in strengthening State law system,” he said.

Hazaribag MP Jayant Sinha, MLA Manish Jaiswal, ADG Anil Palta, Commissioner North Chhotanagpur Arvind Kumar, DIG Pankaj Kamboj, DC BP Singh, SP mayor Patel along with officers and eminent personalities were present on occasion.
