In an instance of disciplinary action for violation of the dress code, the authorities have served a show-cause notice to a primary school teacher in Ganjam district for not wearing the proper uniform.
The notice was served by the Community Education Officer (CEO) of Khallikote to Assistant Teacher Purnachandra Jani of the Chikili Nodal Upper Primary School asking him to submit a reply within three days.
According to reports, the teacher was found wearing jeans instead of following the dress code while on duty at the school on August 16.
It may be noted that the School & Mass Education Department has introduced the dress code for teachers to encourage equality and discipline in schools. As per the norms, uniform is mandatory for the teachers in all Government-run elementary, upper primary and high schools.
