The State received good measure of rainfall and snowfall at several of its places on Tuesday.
The places which received snowfall included New Tehri, Mukteshwar, Dhanaulti, Mussoorie and Pauri. Besides, it rained in Dehradun intermittently while the sky remained overcast throughout the day.
Besides, thundershower lashed the city on late Monday night. As per the regional meteorological centre, the maximum temperature dropped by several notches across the state following the rain/snow activity. According to the forecast, the wet climate is likely to continue for the next 24 hours.
According to the information received from the State Meteorological Centre, Mussoorie received around 13 cm of snowfall while Tehri received 3 cm of snowfall and Mukteshwar received half inches of snowfall on Tuesday.
In Dehradun, the maximum temperature dropped 8.3 degree Celsius on Tuesday while it dropped in New Tehri by 11.6 degree Celsius.
The same was the case at Mukteshwar where the mercury dropped by 11.2 degree Celsius and Almora too saw the same as the temperature dropped by 13.4 degree Celsius.
For Wednesday, the State Meteorological Centre has forecast partly to generally cloudy sky. Rain and snow are likely to occur at a few places in the state. Snowfall is likely to occur at places with the height of 1800m and above.
As per the weather forecast for the city, the sky would remain partly cloudy. Thunder cloud development and light rain are likely to lash some areas. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 18 degree C and 5 degree C respectively.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at various towns of the state on Tuesday were 13.4 degree Celsius and 9.5 degree Celsius in Dehradun, 21.5 degree Celsius and 13.0 degree Celsius in Pantnagar, 3.4 degree Celsius and -1.6 degree Celsius at Mukteshwar, and 01.8 degree Celsius and -0.6 degree Celsius at New Tehri respectively.
