State witnesses heavy rain spell for 24 hrs

For the past 24 hours spell of heavy rainfall has been witnessed at several places in the state. The state capital recorded 4.2 cm of rainfall in the past 24 hours with intermittent rainfall low lying areas were water logged and more is yet to come told Met on Saturday.

Under the changed weather conditions several places in few districts and isolated places in several districts are likely to receive heavy rainfall according to warning issued by Met on Saturday.

On Saturday warning of heavy rainfall in the next 48 hours is issued. In the next 48 hours few regions of Hoshangabad, Betul, Badwani, Alirajpur, Tikamgarh, Damoh, Chhattapur, Datia, Neemuch,Shivpuri, Ashok Nagar, Bhind, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Rewa, Satna and Singrauli would receive heavy rainfall.

Rainfall activities were witnessed at most of the places in Bhopal, Hoshangabad,Sagar, Shahdol and Jabalpur divisions were witnessed. Several regions of the state witnessed heavy rainfall on Saturday. Betul recorded 8.6 cm of rainfall during the day.

A low pressure area over Odisha and trough passing till Bay of Bengal is inducing good rainfall. The west Madhya Pradesh regions would receive heavy rainfall in the present system. After August 28 heavy rainfall would be witnessed in the state and for the 3-4 days intermittent rainfall with light and heavy showers would be witnessed.

In the past 24 hours Rajnagar recorded highest rainfall at 16 cm, Khajuraho recorded 10 cm, Raisen recorded 9 cm, Narsingarh, Chattarpur and Jabalpur recorded 6 cm each, Amarkantak and Harda recorded 5 cm each.
