The State administration has reinstated three excise inspectors who were suspended after liquor tragedy in Haridwar district in February this year. These officers Narendra Singh, Darshan Singh and Lakhiram Saklani were suspended after the liquor tragedy which claimed many lives in Haridwar. The excise commissioner Sushil Kumar told The Pioneer that the department has cancelled their suspension though the inquiry which is currently in process would continue.
More than 100 people in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh had died in Februray this year after consuming spurious liquor.
