Swaraj India president Yogendra Yadav on Saturday said the party will raise the issue of unemployment in the Assembly election.
Presenting some new statistics on unemployment, he said BJP must answer the public on the question of unemployment and other political parties must also come up with alternative solutions.
Yadav announced on behalf of his party that Swaraj India will come up with a concrete alternative roadmap for full employment in coming days. Referring to the new statistics by CMIE (May-August report), he revealed that the number of unemployed in the state has crossed 20 lakh.
Leaving behind many other states with bigger populations, unemployment in Haryana has taken shape of an epidemic, he added.Out of these, 4.5 lakh unemployed are either graduate or with a higher degree, Yadav said, citing figures.
"Latest statistics reveal that Haryana has more unemployed than even states with bigger populations like Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Jharkhand. Punjab has 11 lakh 24 thousand unemployed whereas in Haryana with a smaller population, the total number of unemployed is 20 lakh 20 thousand," he added.
