nLieutenant Governor Anil Baijal facilitated teachers and principals of schools run by the north corporation contribution in disseminating knowledge to the students in the schools.
Addressing the gathering of students and teachers, Baijal said the teachers have the power to exploit the talent in children. “Even, children of small cities are also performing as well because of quality teaching and guidance. The teachers of the corporation have more responsibility towards the children and they should always try to encourage the children to become what they want to be in future,” he added.
All three corporations celebrated ‘Teachers’ Day’ on Thursday. A senior north Corporation official said that four principals, 18 teachers, one physical education and two nursery teachers were honoured for meritorious service on this occasion. “They were given Rs 7000 each along with an appreciation letter and a memento. A ‘Parichayika’ published by education department was also released on this occasion,” he said.
Commissioner Varsha Joshi said the civic body is 100 per cent determined to achieving its goals. She said the Corporation is providing free education to 3, 36,000 children through 700 primary schools, 21 grant schools and 117 non-grant accredited schools.
Meanwhile, South Corporation also awarded six principals, 26 primary teachers, two nursery teachers and one special teacher for their meritorious service. Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari said the funds are not being allotted to the East Corporation by the Delhi Government but still the civic body is doing commendable work in the field of education in limited resources.
“The standard of education is continuously improving in EDMC schools and teachers deserve applaud for this,” he said.
