The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) along with World Integrity Centre (WIC) organised ‘Amazing Thailand Golden Experience’ here on Saturday to attract the senior citizen travellers to Thailand. At the event, Thailand was promoted and showcased as an ideal destination for travellers who like to explore new destinations and enjoy memorable experiences. The event started with a presentation on activities and attractions in new and popular destinations in Thailand that senior travellers would enjoy. From boutique hotels and resorts, Michelin Star restaurants, luxury dinner cruises, popular roof tops bars and a range of world class spas, to a host of activities like shopping at the floating market, flower arrangement classes and Thai cooking classes, Thailand is an ideal getaway for travellers to pamper themselves. The afternoon that focused on “Opening to the New Shades of Thailand” and discovering various aspects of Thainess gave the guests an opportunity to learn to make authentic Thai desserts, experience a traditional Thai massage and enjoy delicious Thai lunch.
According to TAT New Delhi director Isra Stapanaseth, “Apart from the various attractions, warm Thai hospitality and welcoming nature of the Thai people is one of the main reasons that makes Thailand a favourite holiday destination among senior travellers.”
Senior citizen travellers or travellers above the age of 55, are a fast growing segment that spends well and likes to travel in groups. Travel in this segment is becoming very popular due to the wide range of destinations and activities that Thailand has to offer. Factors such as close proximity to India, availability of direct flights, visa on arrival facility and favourable warm climate through the year are some of the reasons that have madeThailand a preferred choice for senior citizen travellers.
