Three male students of the Swami Vivekananda Shikshashram at Sirisbani in Mayurbhanj district have escaped from their hostel on August 15.
Though a case has been registered with the Sadar police here, the kids’ whereabouts are yet to be ascertained.
Reports said three Class-IX students fled from the school hostel late on August 15 night. The students were identified as Subhankar Mishra of Baleswar district, Abhinash Mohakud of Rourkela in Sundargarh district and Hemant Kumar Sahu of Bahalda in Mayurbhanj district, all in the age group of 14 years.
Police have formed separate teams to trace the students.
Father of one of the students said CCTV footage reveals that the trio escaped from the hostel campus at around 3.30 am by climbing the boundary wall of the hostel and went to the Baripada Railway Station.
“The three kids had hatched a plan to escape from the school hostel. We have searched everywhere but there is no clue about where did the three go from the Baripada station,” he added.
When asked, school authorities said police are investigating into the matter. A team including the SDPO, Sadar PS IIC and a few officials of the school left for
Kharagpur on Monday for investigations.
