Two arrested for illegally smuggling country-made liquor worth Rs 25,000

Piplani police have nabbed two miscreants at Anand Nagar and recovered illegally transported 56 litres of 380 bottles of country-made liquor worth Rs 25,000 on Wednesday.

According to the police, acting of a tip two men were detained at Anand Nagar at around 10 in the night and when they were searched 380 bottles were recovered from their possession. The two accused were identified as Shivam Chourasia and Sandeep Sahu of  Shiv Nagar of Chhola Mandir area.

Police said that the two were carrying liquor and failed to produce license regarding the liquor and were nabbed. The source from which the two have obtained the liquor and where it was scheduled to be delivered would be investigated.

Based on the information of illegal transport of liquor when the police started to search for the miscreants of the provided description the accused tried to escape the spot after the police personnel spotted the two accused.  After the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 34 (2) of the Excise Act and further investigation has been started.

The crime record of the two with other police stations of the state capital and their involvement in the illegal transport of liquor would be investigated in the further investigation. During the investigation police have found that the two have been booked for robbery and other crimes. Details would be obtained from Chhola Mandir police. The liquor seized from the possession of the two was 56 liters worth Rs 25,000.
