Two youngsters were killed and another got seriously injured, in a collision involving three motorcycles at Jarandih near Dhori Mata Church on Phusro-Kathara road here, late night on Tuesday.
The dead have been identified as Aditya Gope (21) and Asish Kumar (22). According to sources the three motorcycles involved in the accident were en route from Ranchi to Jarandih. It is learnt that the accident occurred when one of the vehicles grazed another motorcycle, causing both riders to lose their balance and fall. All riders were thrown from their vehicles and left scattered across the road.
Police sources said that the rider of the third vehicle, a 22-year-old Rauson Khalko, suffered severe injuries and was rushed to the Bokaro General Hospital in City.
The two bodies were sent to the Tenughat sub-divisional hospital for post mortems. "The case is being investigated under suitable IPC at Bokaro thermal police station” said Inspector cum Officer in charge of BTPS,Umesh Kumar Thakur.
Our initial investigation revealed that the motorcyclists were not involved in illegal racing activities and that they were known to each other, but they were also in drunken conditions” he added.
