Thursday, 11 July 2019 | PNS | DEHRADUN

A two-year-old was badly injured by a stray dog at Preeti Enclave situated near Shimla Bypass. Residents in the area stated that this was not the first such case as many people in the colony have been injured by stray dogs in the past.  Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) officials said that necessary steps will be taken to prevent such incidents in future. A colony resident Supriya said, “This is not the first such incident. There are 11-12 stray dogs in the area which have injured people in the past. Officials should find a solution to the problem.” Another resident, Shaily Ved said, “A resident was injured by stray dogs in the past and in another case a lady from our colony was attacked by these stray dogs.  This is the third such incident. We have filed complaints twice in the MCD last month but nothing was done." Municipal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey said, “I am unaware of this incident but will instruct our team to resolve the problem in the area.”

Senior veterinary officer Dr VK Sati said, “We have a complaint group in which all the received complaints get resolved as soon as possible. No such complaint from the area was received by us however a team will be sent in the area and necessary steps will be taken.”
