As per direction issued by the Union Ministry of Finance, the UCO Bank organised a two-day bankers’ meet here for generation of ideas to reach five trillion economy by end of 2023.
It also discussed on eight other themes including increasing digital payment, agriculture credit, export credit etc.
“This is a three phase programme and here is the beginning. The suggestions will be forwarded to the State Level Banking Committee (SLBC) and finally to the
Director of Finance Services,” informed DGM from Kolkata head office Surya Narayan Samal.
“Eight themes apart, the other objective of the meet was to align banking with national priorities, stimulating ideas and inculcating a sense of involvement among bankers down to the branch level,” said Zonal Manager of the Sambalpur zonal office Sanjay Kumar Patil.
Officials of 78 branches of UCO bank and two lead banks of 12 revenue districts participated in the programme and shared their views for the purpose.
Chief Manager A Rammohan , Deputy Zonal head Chandrama Giri and other seniors officers also took active part in the two-day programme.
The final stage meeting will be held in the national level to meet the goal of the most desired five trillion economy, the organisers informed.
