The Chandigarh unit of Bharatiya Janata Party has set a target of enrolling 1.25 lakh new members during the ongoing national membership drive.
“The party has been organizing camps across the city to reach out to the resident of Chandigarh and organized a camp at Chandigarh's man made wonder Sukhna Lake to attract the tourists as well,” said Sanjay Tandon, Chandigarh BJP president on Friday.
The camp was setup at the ending point of Sukhna Lake which witnessed party's state president Tandon himself enrolling the tourist by filling up the enrolment forms.
Tandon said that the ongoing membership drive that started on July 6 will run till August 11, under which such camps will be organised in villages, colonies etc. to making it easier for the people to join the party based on a shared ideology.
The party has also instructed all the district, mandal, morcha & heads of various cells to reach out to every individual via these camps, he said.
