An under-trial prisoner (UTP) died under mysterious circumstances at the Aska Sub-Jail in Ganjam district on Friday. The deceased was identified as Daka Sahoo, a resident of Badagada village under the Dharakote police station.
Sahoo, who was an accused in a sensational murder case, died in his cell in the morning. He had been lodged at the jail following his arrest in connection with murder of one Babu Pradhan.
The reason behind his death was yet to be ascertained. Later, his body was sent for postmortem.
