The result of class XII and X examinations of Uttarakhand board would be declared on May 30. The secretary of the Ramnagar based Uttarakhand Vidhyalayi Shiksha Parishad (UVSP), Neeta Tiwari said that the results of the much awaited examinations would be declared on Thursday, May 30.
The Lok Sabha elections had delayed the process of the evaluation of the answer sheets of the students by almost 20 days but the board has ensured that the declaration of results is not affected by this delay.
Addressing media persons at Ramnagar, Tiwari said that the evaluation process of these examinations ended on May 4 and the result would be declared by Director Education and Chairman of UVSP, R K Kunwar on May 30 at 10.30 am.
The evaluation process usually starts on April 1 and ends by third week of April and the results are declared in the last week of May.
This year the Lok Sabha elections, the polling for which was held in the state on April 11 resulted in delay in the evaluation as the teachers, other staff members of education department and employees of Uttarakhand board were assigned for the election duties. The class X and XII examinations of Uttarakhand board started on March 1 and concluded on March 26.
A total of 149737 candidates were registered for High school (Class X) examination of the board while 124183 candidates were enrolled for Inter (Class XII) examination of the board.
The UVSP had deployed more than 4500 teachers for the evaluation of the answer sheets of the students and had set up 30 evaluation centres across the state.
Facing flak for being stingy in awarding marks when compared with other boards, the UVSP officials are learnt to have asked the evaluators to focus on positive things in the answer sheets and be lenient in awarding marks to the students.
