Walkathon, signature campaign held in city

The People’s Cultural Centre (PECUC) in collaboration with the Labour and ESI Department held a walkathon against child labour, exploitation and abuse from the Ram Mandir Square to Master Canteen and a signature campaign near Master Canteen on Tuesday to mark the World Day for Prevention of Child Abuse

Chairperson of Odisha Building and Construction Workers’ Welfare Board Subash Singh and Labour Commissioner  Niranjan Sahoo, PECUC Goodwill Ambassador Anshika Routray, secretary PECUC and chairperson of NACG EVAC, India, Ranjan Kumar Mohanty inaugurated the events.

Divisional Labour Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Mohapatra, Olympiad Anuradha Biswal, Women and Child Development Department advisor Sulata Deo, Assistant Labour Officer SN Acharya, Assistant Labour Officer Dharashree Mohapatra, Labour Inspectors Pravakar Biswal and Kaliputra Kuldeep Prasad were present. The speakers emphasized to stop child labour and all forms of child abuse.
