Will reserve 75% jobs for Haryana youth: Dushyant Chautala

Monday, 23 September 2019 | MANOJ KUMAR | Rohtak

Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) senior leader and former Hisar MP Dushyant Chautala on Sunday promised 75 per cent of jobs for youth of the state in private and government sector.

Dushyant, while addressing a ''Jan Samman Divas'' rally to mark the birth anniversary of former Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhary Devi Lal here said that if comes to power, his party would reserve  75 per cent of jobs for youth only and also, assured his party’s support to employees of the state.

“The JJP is the only viable alternative. Your vote will decide the future of Haryana," he said, while making an appeal to the people to support the party in the elections.

The elections to 90 assembly seats in the state will be held on October 21 and the results will be declared on October 24.

Hitting out at ruling Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) Government, he said that the BJP has befooled the common people of Haryana for last five years and now, each section of society wants to get rid of BJP.

Slamming the Haryana Government for the poor law and order situation, he said that Haryana was burnt thrice in the past five years under their rule.

“80 people died during these incidents,” he said, in an apparent reference to the violence suffered by the state during the episodes linked with self-styled godman Rampal, Jat agitation and the conviction of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.

He also cornered the BJP led government at Centre and state over economic slowdown, unemployment and farmers’ woes.

“Farmers and small businessman are in crisis. Farmers are not getting remunerative prices for their produce. The rate of unemployment has increased in the last five years," he said.

Unemployment, farmers’ woes and law and order are the key poll issues, Dushyant added. He said that two weeks ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also addressed a rally at this same place and half of the pandal was empty which shows people are fed up with the false promises of BJP leaders. Targeting the Congress, Dushyant said that their party leaders are already indulged in infighting and it is a divided house. “When tickets are announced, these Congress people will once again fight amongst themselves,” he said.

The JJP leader also attacked the Indian National Lok Dal saying that he and his brother were expelled from the party. We made a separate party with the support of leaders and workers and became people's first choice, he said.

Notably, the JJP was formed nearly a year ago after a split in the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) following a feud in the Chautala family.

On the amended Motor Vehicle Act, Dushyant said that if their party comes to power, they would not implement it.

He accused the BJP of burning a hole in pockets of common people by bringing strict punishments under new traffic rules.

The JJP leader, however, backed the scrapping of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir but said the time had come to reclaim Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.

Dushyant also made a slew of promises if his party was voted to power. He promised to increase the old-age pension to Rs 5,100, free treatment to the poor in government hospitals for life-threatening diseases, shifting of liquor vends outside village limits and a wage hike for government employees and panchayat members.

“People want change…  We are working hard to oust the BJP from the power.  29 days have left ahead of polls,” he added while making an appeal to the party workers to reach out to people through door to door campaign and seek vote for the future of Haryana.
