Woman’s burnt body found in K’pada

A charred body of a woman was found in her house at Khadianga village under the Town police station in the district on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Anusuya Singh (52). As per the woman’s husband Surendra Prasad Singh, she poured kerosene and set herself on fire early in the morning when he had gone for attending nature’s call.

Surendra further said that his wife was mentally challenged. She had consumed bleaching powder couple of months ago, for which she was admitted to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack. Later, she was discharged after undergoing treatment for eight days, he added.

Getting information, police reached the village with a forensic team and started investigation.
