Saturday, 07 September 2019 | PNS | Bokaro

A woman has accused her husband of giving her triple talaq (divorce) and left her along with their two children after her family did not give him (to husband) cash as dowry under Katras police station, police said.

In the case of triple talaq, the victim has given an application in the police station and pleaded for justice, said B Oraon OC of Katras police station.

"Jasmin Firdosh, a resident of Tanada Basti, Katras Bazar has given an application in the police station accusing her husband of domestic violence and throwing her out of his house after giving her talaq (divorce)," he added.

“I got married in 2013 with Anwarul Haq according to Muslim customs at village Chankoti under Mahua police station in Vaishali district of Bihar. Earlier the behaviour of my husband and his in-laws was very good, but later the husband and in-laws started harassing me and started asking for Rs 1 lakh as dowry,” said the victim.

She alleged that her husband always used to quarrel with her over the demand of dowry. “In the meantime, in 2014, the first child was born, but their behaviour was not changed. Later in 2018, the second child was born, even after that, their behaviour did not change, they always used to harass me for dowry,” she added.

“After a few months (in 2018) my husband brought me to my parents’ home and left here. On 2 September he has given me divorce (talaq). The lives of my children will be ruined,” said Jasmin appealing from the police for justice and also requested for appropriate legal action.

"We want the guilty to be punished and want them to make provisions for my daughter's children. After numerous instances of fights and domestic violence, he gave her a divorce," said A Firdosh uncle of the victim.
