Odia fiction writer AmareshBiswal will receive ‘Kanhei Katha Puraskar2019’ for his outstanding contribution to Odia short stories and other literary activities.
The award , every year, is given by Kanheilal Das Smruti Sansad, Baleswar, to an Odia fiction writer in memory of Kanheilal Das, a prominent , upcoming fiction writer of that time,who died prematurely.
This year Biswal has been adjudged for the prestigious award by the members of Sansad , a committee headed by Krushna Kumar Mohanty, working president of sansad.
The award will be conferred to him on June 27 on the occasion of 72 Kanhei Jayanti Utsav.
Biswal, a focused journalist of the State, has authored 12 books to his credit among which four books of short story.
A post graduate in Odia literature from the Utkal University, Biswal, who is a resident of Rachhipur, Jajpur district, won several youth awards for novel and short stories including the Bhubaneswar Pustak Mela Puraskar in 2016, Rajadhani Pustak Mela Puraskar in 2010 and Gyanada Galpa Samman in 2018.
