Yogi: UP to play major role in making India economic superpower

Monday, 29 July 2019 | PNS | Lucknow

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said that the state would play a major role in making the country an economic superpower.

He said the UP government had implemented the ‘Sankalp Patra’ (vision document) released by the Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of 2017 UP assembly elections as its ‘mantra’ (guiding principle) and all the schemes listed in the document were executed as per the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Yogi Adityanath said the state government had been successful in bringing in investments to the tune of over Rs 2.75 lakh crore in UP during the last two years of the BJP rule, generating jobs for over 28 lakh youth and this was a record of sorts.

“Out of these investments, Rs 1.75 lakh crore were made by the private sector and the rest Rs 1.25 lakh crore by the public sector and both have generated over 28 lakh jobs,” he said.

“Uttar Pradesh will play a major role in achieving the target of USD 5 trillion economy and ensuring that India emerges as an economic superpower in the world,” the Chief Minister said while speaking at the second groundbreaking ceremony for industrial projects worth Rs 65,000 crore here on Sunday.

The Chief Minister said this year the state had achieved 28 per cent growth in the export sector, which was a big leap. He said with investments worth Rs 65,000 crore, about three lakh youths may get employment.

“I welcome the industrialists and the investors in the biggest market of the world. The government has so far formulated policies for 16 focus sectors and policies for three other sectors will soon be finalised. The government, as per the policy, is committed to providing all facilities and security to the investors in UP,” the Chief Minister said.

Addressing the captains of industry in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Yogi said the investment atmosphere had changed and now everyone was interested in coming to UP.

On the occasion, he welcomed Union Home Minister Amit Shah on his maiden visit to Lucknow after becoming the Union Home Minister.

“BJP president Amit Shah has always worked for the progress of UP and his working on the Vision Document of 2017 assembly polls shows his commitment for the people of the state,” Yogi said, adding that he had always sought advice from the BJP president over governance during the past over two years.

The Chief Minister also thanked the industrialists for showing interest in investing in UP and presenting a positive picture of the state. He also thanked outgoing Governor Ram Naik for his time to time advice for the progress of the state.
