A youth of the Pattamundai area in the district was arrested on Monday for allegedly blackmailing a girl with a video of their intimate moments.
The arrestee was identified as Soumya Ranjan Sahu.
Sources said that Sahu had forced the girl to have physical relationship with him and video-recorded the private moments.
Later, he threatened the girl to post the video on social media and make it viral if she resisted his further physical advances.
Acting on a complaint lodged by a relative of the girl, the Pattamundai Model police registered a case and arrested the accused. The police also seized his mobile phone and were trying to ascertain to whom he has sent the video.
