A youth was assaulted by a mob in the Pattamaundai area in the district when he abducted two minor schoolgirls on Tuesday.
Reports said the youth offered a lift to the victims of Mochipada village when they were on their way to the school and subsequently kidnapped them.But father of one of the minor girl’s saw the youth taking his daughter by a motorcycle and chased him.He managed to intercept the motorcycle and confronted the youth at Khetrapala village. The youth tried to assault the father of the girl when locals intervened and beat him blue andblack. The youth was later handed over to the police,. Police detained the youth and began interrogating him.
