A youngster lost his lives in a bike accident on Friday afternoon on Kathara-Gomia road. He was on his way home of his sister at Swang. A speeding dumper in the opposite direction cut across him. Vicky Handy,(18) who was riding the bike, lost control and crashed into the dumper,said Inspector-cum Officer in-Charge Umesh Kumar Thakur.
The youth fell off and was dragged for a few metres.“The dumper driver managed to escape,” said Thakur, who is investigating the case. Thakur added that the killed youth belonged to Jarandih area.
Vikey, who was only son of his parents, was on his bike. Around 1pm, when he reached at Kathara,pump house, a dumper (JH-09AB-0308) coming towards him from the opposite direction cut across his path.
Vikey lost control and crashed into the dumper.The dumper driver, who is yet to be identified, fled from the spot.
Locals said that soon after the incident, Officer in-Charge of Bokaro Thermal who rushed to the accident spot found that youth died on the spot due to major head injuries.
Police has lodged a first by now, he has paid Rs 50,000 for the last rites.
