1,200 gm gold paste recovered from passenger at IGI

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) detected gold in paste form weighing about 1,200 gm at IGI airport from a Delhi bound passenger from Dubai, said the officials on Saturday.

On Saturday at about 12:50 AM , following a tip off Sub-Inspector Javed Ahmed of CISF deployed at frisking point of Security Hold Areaat Terminal-3, IGI Airport detected 1,200 gm gold in paste form wrapped in two packets which were concealed in groin area by the passenger.

The passenger was later identified as and Mohamed Ashfaque carrying Indian passport and arrived from Dubai and further bound for Kuala Lumpur.

The passenger with the recovered gold paste weighing approx 1,200 gmswas handed over to Custom officials. During interrogation, the said passenger revealed that he was supposed to hand over the said gold tohis relative Ashfaque Ahamed Mohtesham, bound for Mumbai by Air India flight , who was later, located by Custom officials in International boarding gate area and was detained for further legal action.
