Day after resident doctors of the Hindu Rao Hospital, run by the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NMC), threatened to go on strike from Monday over pending salary; the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) Delhi unit president Manoj Tiwari accused the Delhi Government for "disrupting" the corporation's functioning by withholding its share.

Hitting out at the Aam Aadmi Party led Delhi Governmnet, Tiwari said that the Central Government is making all the possible efforts to make the lives of the people smooth but the Kejriwal Government is trying to paralyse the Municipal Corporations for its political gain.

"The corporation is not able to pay salary to the Doctors, schools teachers and sanitation workers because of financial crunch. It is the moral and constitutional responsibility of Kejriwal Government to release the funds to the Municipal Corporations its due," he said, adding that we demand that the Delhi government should immediately release Rs 5282.2 crores due as soon as possible so that the civic body may release the salary.

Accusing the Chief Minister for obstructing the services, he said that the people of Delhi gave Kejriwal a massive mandate for the development of Delhi what has he done?, he asked.

"Kejriwal Government has made all the efforts under a conspiracy to defame the BJP ruled Municipal Corporations in last few years," he added.

Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta said that fifth Delhi Finance Commission was to implemented form the year 2017 but Delhi government rejected 29 important recommendations made by the commission and hatched a conspiracy to make municipal corporations cripple financially.

"The recommendations of Delhi Finance Commission were an attempt to make the corporations strong and self sustaining but Kejriwal governmnet brutally flouted, these recommendations made by the Delhi Finance Commission," he said.

The fifth Delhi Finance Commission had recommended that payment of loans should not be detected from the share of corporations in the taxes which was rejected by the Delhi government, he said, adding that the commission also recommended that loan should be given to the corporation only for productive purposes but municipal corporations has no such item where in loan can be used for productive purposes.

In lack of fund and Delhi Government "apathy" has affected the functioning adversely, Gupta said. He further said that an annual amount of Rs 1228.42 crore for strengthening of roads, unauthorised colonies, development of Jhuggi basties and sanitation, maintenance s of sanitary landfills has been reduced to nil to make the corporations cripple financially.
