KJo’s wishlist for K2H2 reboot
Karan Johar has no immediate plans to work on a Kuch Kuch Hota Hai reboot, but the filmmaker says Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and Janhvi Kapoor are on his wishlist if he decides to bring back the love story.
“Ranveer would play Rahul as he has that mad intensity as SRK. Alia as Anjali. She has the spunk and Janhvi Kapoor as Tina because she has the poise and balance of the part,” said Johar, during an audience interaction at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.
Looking back at the casting process, Karan said, “I was ecstatic to meet SRK. Kajol and he had promised that they would work my first film. It took months to cast for Rani's part after Aditya Chopra recommended her.”
‘You can't stop being famous. You are a famous person even when you are at home. So you don't have to deliberately detach from that because that will always be a part of you. If you can look at it as an advantage, use it and apply it well, it is great. Becoming famous and getting fame are two different things. For me, my work has always been important rather than my popularity.’

“The film is part of the special section at TIFF. When I first read the script, I was blown by it. I am glad that it is getting its due after so many years now. I am looking forward to showing this film to people at the festival, interacting with the international press and cinema aficionados,” Sobhita, Made in Heaven-fame, said.
‘Populism is spreading across’
Actor Richard Gere says the movement of populism is spreading all around the world, and he hopes to touch upon the issue with his series MotherFatherSon.
In his first television role in the last 30 years, Gere is seen as a charismatic self-made businessman Max, who owns media outlets in London and around the world. The drama series, written by Tom Rob Smith, is a tale of a broken family with deep-rooted issues of politics, conflicts of a country on the brink of change and power.
He said, “It is about a mother, a father and a son and how those relationships function. And this human story which we can all relate to is set against a much larger story about international politics and about the movement of populism which I feel is spreading across.”
