Through dedication, hard work and perseverance, one can achieve their goals not only in sports but also in their life pursuits,” said Dr Sekar Viswanathan, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) vice president, on Monday, as he addressed school students who took part in the annual summer camp conducted by VIT.
He said that youngsters need to practice their sports daily and follow the instructions given by their coach to excel. He added, “It is because of the hard work that several youngsters had put in through the years that they were able to get sponsorships.”
Viswanathan made youngsters vow to not follow any bad habits rather inculcate meaningful lessons and lead a clean life. He said, “At this summer camp, I request you all to wake up early, exercise regularly and study everyday.”
Dr S Narayanan, pro vice chancellor, VIT, flagged off a mini marathon from Chitoor bus stand to college.
Director of Physical Education department Dr Thyaga Chandan and deputy director Dr Mangaiyarkarasi were also present.
