Sambad’ publisher Bijay Kumar Patnaik succumbed to Covid-19 while undergoing treatment at a private hospital here on Saturday. He was 62 and is survived by wife and a son.
He was under treatment for the last one month.
Patnaik had joined the Sambad newspaper since its inception in October 1984. Besides, he was actively involved in various social and religious activities. He had also contributed to the development of the Baramunda area here.
A pal of gloom descended on officials and staffs of the Sambad Group who termed his death an irreparable loss.
