1,400 bio-toilets installed in 375 coaches: SECR

Tuesday, 21 July 2020 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

The South Eastern Central Railway (SECR) has moved one step ahead in    providing maximum           sanitation to passengers by installing 1,400 bio-toilets in 375 coaches in 13 trains in the Raipur Railway Division, it was announced on Monday.

The 13 trains include Durg-Jammu Tawi,           Durg-Ajmer, Durg-Rajendra Nagar, Durg-Ambikapur and Durg-Kanpur.

The bio-toilets, which replace traditional toilets on trains, convert the stored human excreta into usable dust powder with bacteria culture technology. The      bio-toilets help in waste            management and to keep the tracks as well as train toilets clean, the SECR said.
