One more city resident succumbed to COVID-19 on Wednesday while 29 fresh cases were reported in Chandigarh. The total positive case in the city now stands at 780 while the total toll reached 13. “A 61 years old female resident of Vikas nagar, Mauli Jagran died at Alchemist Hospital, Sector 21 Panchkula. She was diagnosed as positive for COVID-19. She had reported to Hospital with co-morbid conditions of diabetes, hypertension, hypothyroidism, right Pons Cavernoma and left Tibia Fracture. She was sampled post death at the same hospital and tested at a private laboratory,” stated Chandigarh Health Department’s evening bulletin. The fresh positive cases in the city were reported from Sectors 9, 18, 19, 20, 21, 28, 29, 30, 32, 37, 41, 42, 43, 45, 47, Badheri, MauliJagran, Ramdarbar, Dhanas and Manimajra. Among positive patients, many were related to those having a travel history of Punjab, Bengaluru, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. Meanwhile, eight patients were discharged on Wednesday taking the total recoveries to 526 in Chandigarh.  While the total number of cases is 780, there were 241 active cases till the evening in the city.
