12 die from Covid in State on Wednesday

The post Deepawali surge in the number of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases and fatalities from the disease is continuing to increase in Uttarakhand. On Wednesday the state health department reported 12 deaths from the disease which increased the death toll to 1185 in the state. The department also reported 482 fresh cases of the disease on the day which increased the tally from the disease to 72642. The authorities discharged 444 patients of Covid-19 from different hospitals after their recovery on the day.  A total of 66147 patients have so far recovered from the disease. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 91.06 percent.

Three patients of Covid-19 each were reported dead at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital Dehradun and Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun on Wednesday. One patient each succumbed to the disease at District Hospital Gopeshwar, Kailash hospital, Dehradun, Himalayan hospital Dehradun, Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani, Velmed hospital Dehradun and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on the day.

The authorities reported 157 fresh cases of the disease in Dehradun, 59 in Nainital, 50 in Haridwar, 47 in Pauri, 44 Pithoragarh, 41 in Chamoli, 23 in Udham Singh Nagar, 15 in Tehri, 12 in Rudraprayag, 10 in Almora, seven in Uttarkashi and five in Bageshwar on Wednesday. The state now has 4658 active patients of the disease.

Dehradun district with 1452 active cases is maintaining its lead at top of table while with 534 active cases Haridwar is on second position. Nainital has 438; Pauri has 407, Chamoli 316, Pithoragarh 308, Udham Singh Nagar 296, Tehri 227, Almora 157, Rudraprayag 150, Uttarkashi 141 and Bageshwar 131 active cases of the disease. With 101 active cases of Covid-19, Champawat now is at the bottom of the table.
