222 blood units collected at Red Cross camp

The Indian Red Cross Society, State branch, in association with the Smart City Auto Association here organised a voluntary blood donation camp on Tuesday where 222 units of blood were collected.

Honorary secretary of the State Red Cross CTM Suguna inaugurated the camp and stressed on the need to collect blood on regular basis to meet the demand in the State by 100 per cent. Auto Association members, local residents and students of schools and colleges donated blood. Central Red Cross Blood Bank and Capital Blood Bank personnel collected the blood. Red Cross State branch joint secretary Durga Sankar Sarangi, treasurer Major Dr Kalpana Das, Youth Red Cross officer Dr Ajaya Kumar Tripathy, Ranjan Kumar Mohanty and Laxman Swain conducted.
