Punjab Government gearing up to fill about 4,000 vacancies in the state Health and Family Welfare Department, the recruitment process of which would commence soon.
“To check the shortage of doctors in the Department, the Punjab Government would be recruiting a total of around 4,000 medical and para-medical staff in the Health and Family Welfare Department,” said the state Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu after laying the foundation stone of a 10-bedded Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Jhordan village near Raikot town of Ludhiana district.
The PHC is being constructed in the memory of Shaheed Hawaldar Ishar Singh of Saragarhi War, who belonged to Jhordan village. “This PHC would be constructed with a cost of around Rs 55 lakh at the site where a government dispensary existed. This hospital would be completed in next six months,” said Sidhu.Sidhu, speaking to the media after laying the foundation stone of the project, said that it would be a 10-bedded PHC, which would have facilities of cold chain room, immunization room, ward, sterilization room, labour room, laboratory, besides other facilities.
