45 more corona cases in Bhubaneswar

Out of the 59 new coronavirus cases reported on Friday in Khordha district, 45 were detected in the capital city Bhubaneswar with 35 from quarantine centres and 10 being local transmission cases.

The positive cases in the city included a private dentist and 11 staffs of a Central Government hospital, the Information and Public Relations Department said.

The quarantine cases included a 36-year-old man of Dumduma HB Colony with a travel history of Kolkata, a three-year-old boy of Dumduma Raghunath Nagar with travel history of Kolkata, a 13-year-old girl of Dumduma Raghunath Nagar, a 61-year-old man of Samantrapur, a 50 year-old woman of Jayadev Vihar and four cases of Ebaranga, Gouridham.

A 40-year-old man of Satya Vihar, a 29-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman and a 29-yer-old man of Patrapada, 11 employees of a Central Government hospital, a 29-year-old woman of Saheed Nagar, a 43-year-old man of Nayapalli Nuasahi, a 67-year-old woman near Gopabandhu Chhack, a 59-year-old man of Baramunda Ruchika Market, a 46-year-old woman of Suka Vihar, three cases of same family of Palasspalli near the airport and a 50-year-old woman and a 29-year old man of same family of Kalinga Nagar in quarantine also tested positive.

The local contact cases were a 48-year-old man of Badagada Brit Colony,  a 72-year-old man of Patia, a 73-year-old woman of Shailashree Vihar,  a 25-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman of Suka Vihar, a 29-year-old male dentist of Suryanagar, a 27-year-old man of BJB Nagar, a 83-year-old man of Ghatikia, a 54-year-old man of Niladri Vihar and a 20-year-old woman of Palasuni.

With the new cases, the positive cases’ tally in Bhubaneswar reached 602, including 286 active ones.

In Cuttack city, 16 persons tested positive on the day, taking the total count to 229 in the CMC area. The cases included five Covid warriors and a 13-year-old boy.

With the new cases, the city’s active cases rose to 195. However, 32 persons have recovered from the disease while two have died of the virus in the city so far.
