A day after being kidnapped, businessman Naresh Agrawal of Bareipali here was rescued safely by police from the Sasan police station area in the wee hours of Saturday.
However, the abductors managed give police the slip. Further investigation was underway in connection with the incident and a hunt was on to nab the culprits, said police.
Agarwal had been kidnapped at gunpoint by three persons when he had gone to Sasan to inspect the boundary construction work on his land. The abductors came in a car and punctured the wheels of the businessman’s car and forced him to accompany them in their car.
But the reason for abducting him is yet to be ascertained.
