In the wake of increasing number of corona positives in Ujjain, the district administration started intensive checking campaign in the city and strict action would be taken against people not following preventive precautions, said Collector Ashish Singh
He said that increase in numbers is said to be alarming. Officials of various departments would be deployed to check the people flouting the rules.
Officer would conduct intensive checking in different police station areas and would carry out the campaign to send people without masks to temporary jail.
At present Temporary jail at Dewas road is built at the polytechnic college.
Instructions have been given to send temporary jails to those who do not wear masks
The Collector has appealed to the common people to understand their responsibility, themselves and others, ask to wear mask and avoid dangers by following social distancing.
The Collector instructed Additional Superintendent of Police Rupesh Dwivedi that they should inform us regarding checking team at the police stations.
In TL meeting, the Collector has said that Madhav Nagar, Dewasgate, Mahakal, Nilganga, Kharakua, Nanakheda, Nagjhiri, Jeevajiganj, Bhairavgarh, Kotwali, Chimanganj and Panwasa police station areas checking will be done by officials of various departments at major places.
Vehicles will be used to transport people wearing masks to the temporary jail and no action but people will be kept in open prison.
Additional District Magistrate in the meeting Jitendra Singh Chauhan, District Panchayat CEO Ankit Asthana, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Kshitij Officials of various departments including Singhal were present.
