Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi remains in coma but there was a minor improvement in his medical condition on Thursday as he slightly moved a thumb, doctors said on Thursday. Now doctors are trying to activate his brain with infrared radiation.
But overall, Jogi is still “very critical” and continues to be on ventilator support system, the doctors said.
With Jogi's neurological activities “almost nil”, the doctors went for audio therapy by making him listen to his favourite songs on earphones.
Jogi was admitted to Shree Narayana Hospital on May 9 after he suffered cardiac and respiratory arrest. As per doctors, a sweet tamarind seed had got stuck in Jogi’s windpipe.
Doctors are making all efforts to revive his brain activity. The ‘audio therapy’ has started paying results, they said.
Among other vital parameters, Jogi’s heart is functioning well while his blood pressure and urine output remain under control.
A bureaucrat-turned politician, Jogi was the first Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh from November 2000 to November 2003 heading a Congress government after the state was born.
An incumbent MLA from Marwahi, Jogi parted ways with the Congress in 2016 and floated his Janta Congress Chhattisgarh (J).
