An art camp of clay toys is being held at Madhya Pradesh State Tribal Museum. It began here from Friday.
The camp was held by Tribal Folk Arts and Languages Development Academy, Madhya Pradesh Culture Council, Bhopal. Traditional artisans from Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh are participating in the 10-day craft camp from other guest states including the State of Madhya Pradesh.
Rajesh Prasad Mishra, the director of the museum inaugurated the camp by lighting the lamp and welcoming all the artists with flowers.
Toys are the most important part of children's lives. Toys develop the imagination of the senses of children and on learning the usefulness of which, the child combines many things and creates new ones.
The tradition of earthen toys has been in India for many years, with the changing times, earthen toys have become extinct today.
The specialty of the clay toy is that it is a native toy crafted by the craftsmen here, in which all the colours including the dolls, dolls, king-queen, animal-birds are found in the shape of disguise. On the day of inauguration in the museum craft camp 'Aakar', craftsman Bhikham Prajapati of Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh prepared toys made of clay and clay.
He said that with the soil being fertile, he is very useful in craftsmanship, he has been engaged in craftsmanship for 25 years and often exhibits his craft in the camps of different states of the country.
He made elephant-horse and some animal-focused toys for children in the camp, along with all other traditional craftsmen who participated in the camp.
