President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders greeted Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on his birthday on Sunday and wished him a long, healthy and prosperous life.
Among others who greeted him were Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Chhattisgarh Governor Anusuiya Uikey, Chief Ministers Ashok Gehlot of Rajasthan and Captain Amarinder Singh of Punjab as well as former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh.
On the occasion, Baghel handed over an ambulance to Raipur Municipal Corporation, flagging it off from his official residence.
The ambulance, costing Rs 16.25 lakh, is air-conditioned and has a ventilator facility. The automatic stretcher can be converted into a bed.
Baghel had on Saturday urged everyone not to come to his residence to greet him personally on his birthday.
