CCL boosts efforts to provide safety to its workforce

In an attempt to ensure safety for its workforce so that accidents could not take place, a virtual brainstorming session on safety chaired by Central Coalfield Limited (CCL), Chairman cum Managing Director (CMD) PM Prasad was successfully organized at the company headquarters in the State Capital on Saturday.

The session was attended by Director Technical (Operation), VK Srivastava, Director (Finance), NK Agarwal and other General Managers and HoDs of various departments. The General Managers of various operational areas of the company joined the session via video conferencing.

Discussions on various topics pertaining to safety in mines took place in the session. Prasad said that safety of workforce is of paramount importance and every effort should be undertaken to ensure that the company becomes accident free. He reiterated that all the relevant safety parameters and Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) should be adhered. He also instructed that all the statutory personnel working in mines should regularly update their work-related registers.

Members of CCL safety board also took part in the session and expressed their opinions and gave suggestions on Mines safety.

General manager, (Safety and Rescue), SV Marathe gave a powerpoint presentation on Occupational safety, Health and working condition Code 2020 and other safety related aspects. The members present in the meeting discussed how to adopt best practices in safety and ensuring coal production in a safe environment.

All the safety protocols related to Covid pandemic were adhered. Everybody present wore masks and followed social distancing.

The employees of the safety department, CCL played an important role in the success of the event.
