CM transfers Rs 330 cr to 374 urban bodies, 5 Cant councils

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday transferred an amount of Rs 330 crore from Mantralaya to 374 urban bodies and 5 Cantonment councils of the State through a single click.

 He also inaugurated the “Shahari Path Vyavasayi Utthan Yojana” and “Shahari Path Vikreta Portal”. Principal Secretary Nitesh Vyas, Commissioner Urban Administration and Development P Narhari were present on the occasion.The Chief Minister, while addressing the street vendors of different districts of Madhya Pradesh through video conferencing said that the Pradhan Mantri Path Vikreta Atmanirbhar Nidhi has been started by India’s visionary Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under which loan of Rs 10,000 will be provided to urban street vendors.

 In this, the Central Government will provide 7 per  cent interest subsidy. With this, the Madhya Pradesh Government has started the Shahari Path Vyavasayi Utthan Yojana under which the State Government will pay the remaining interest amount, which will be about 5 per cent. In this way, the beneficiary will get an interest-free loan of Rs 10,000 guaranteed by the Government. Chouhan informed that the Shahari Path Vikreta Portal has also been started by the Madhya Pradesh Government with the purpose of providing benefits of various schemes to street vendors / businessmen.

Under this, the urban unorganised workers – small traders running their business on roads, in gumtis, as hawkers, will be registered on the portal. This integrated portal will ensure that they get the benefits of various schemes. Chief Minister Chouhan urged the street vendors to get themselves registered on the portal.

Chief Minister Chouhan interacted with street vendors from different districts of the state including Munesh (Chat seller) of Bhopal, Sanjay Kushwaha (vegetable seller), Anita Jain (vegetable seller) of Ujjain, Narendra Singh Vaishya (vegetable seller), Sheela Kushwaha (vegetable seller) of Satna, Pramod Soni (street vendor), Babita (vegetable street vendor) of Indore, Amarji (vegetable vendor) and Shivraj Singh (lock and key seller), Kaushalya Pal (fruit seller) of Datia etc. The Chief Minister told them to run their business with the amount and stay happy. Chouhan informed that with the amount of Rs 330 crore, the urban bodies will be able to undertake works related to drinking water arrangement, drain construction, sewerage work, road construction, road repair, infrastructure development, slum development, solid waste management, fire services etc.
