A local Congress leader in Gurugram has been booked by the cyber police on the complaint of the BJP IT cell for allegedly spreading rumours and posting false and misleading information on social media against the party.
According to the complaint filed on August on 8 by Arun Yadav, IT Convener BJP Haryana, Tejbir Mayna, Vice Chairman of Haryana Kisaan Congress, was constantly defaming the BJP party and leaders via social media post.
However, after the case was registered, Mayna apologized by deleting the post from Facebook. Inspector Mukesh Kumar, the SHO of cyber police station, said that the accused Tejbir Mayna will be issued a notice and called for questioning. “The intention of the accused is very clear from his Post, where he fails to understand the ramification of his false/ misleading post that will create a state of panic among the public at large”, Yadav alleged in the police comliant.
Following the complaint, a case has been registered against Tejbir Mayna under sections 153A, 505 (2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the cyber crime police station.
“We will soon serve notice to the leader to join the probe soon. Further probe into matter is on”, said Kumar, SHO of the cyber crime police station.
