Covid: CM for effective prevention, treatment

Directing officials to ensure adherence to the Covid guidelines, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said that effective arrangements should be maintained for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19.

Presiding over an unlock review meeting at his official residence here, the chief minister also said that people should be continuously made aware about the precautions to be taken against COVID-19.

He said public address systems along with other publicity media should be used to inform people about ways to protect themselves from novel coronavirus. He said these publicity mediums should also be used in major markets and important places to spread awareness.

The chief minister also directed officials to intensify enforcement activities for making masks mandatory.

He said a special action plan should be prepared for effective control of coronavirus infection in Lucknow and Meerut districts. He said the district magistrates and chief medical officers of all the districts should hold a review meeting regularly in the Covid hospitals in the morning and at the Integrated Command and Control Centre in the evening and make future strategies.

The chief minister also directed officials to further strengthen contact tracing and surveillance systems.

He said  all works related to the establishment of the cold chain for COVID-19 vaccine should be completed by December 15 in all the districts.

He said that home isolation should not be allowed for elderly, respiratory disease patients, pregnant women, people suffering from various diseases and small children who were infected with COVID-19.
